In remembrance of Iranian Math Genius Professor “Maryam Mirzakhani”

On November 2017 the 2nd, From 6 to 7:30 in the Student Union at University of North Texas, room 332 will be a ceremony in remembrance of Professor Maryam Mirzakhani, the first female Field prize winner in Mathematics.

Unfortunately, Professor Mirzakhani passed away this year on July 14, 2017, after a long fight with cancer while teaching at University of Stanford.

The Iranian Student Association at the University of North Texas is holding an event in remembrance of her and her legacy.

In this event, you will be presented with:

  1. A presentation on Professor Mirzakhani’s Life, Works, and Legacy
  2. An Iranian music performance (vocal and instrument)
  3. refreshments and treats

Come! join us in this event and learn how Maryam became a pioneer in Math and science.

This event is free to the public. No RSVP needed.
